Archbishop Gustavo to lead the faithful at annual Respect Life Mass and procession to Planned Parenthood

The first weekend of October begins a month dedicated to respect for all human life from conception to natural death. To begin this commemoration all people of good will, Catholics and non-Catholics are invited to attend the Respect Life Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS. It will begin at 8 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1710 Clower. Following the Mass, the archbishop will lead San Antonio citizens on a peaceful rosary procession to Planned Parenthood on Babcock Road.
As he encourages as many of the faithful to participate in this prayerful start to Respect Life Month, Archbishop Gustavo reminds us that, “We are all called to be pro-life, living in awe and respect for all of God’s creation, especially His masterpiece … the human person.”It is the hope of the participants of this annual event that, as they join in spirit with those who are pro-life across the nation, to raise the awareness of the tragedy of abortion and the compelling need to continue the struggle of building a culture that respects all life, born and unborn. Since 1973 more than 55 million unborn children have been aborted in the United States.
Gloria Zapiain, interim director of the Office of Life, Justice, and Peace for the Archdiocese of San Antonio welcomes all people who are dedicated to preserving the dignity of every human life in addition to the struggle to stop abortions.
